Event Description: Join us at Crested Butte Mountain Resort for our Summer 2017 Opening Day! Mountain bikers rejoice as Evolution Bike Park opens for the summer season, lift-accessed hiking begins and the Adventure Park opens! We hope to see you out there!
Name: KBUT FISH FRY
Date: June 16th 4:00 pm
Event Description: Every summer, KBUT is proud to host the Friday Night Fish Fry, a fun-filled community party held in Crank's Plaza right outside the KBUT studios. Catfish, crawfish beignets, coleslaw, cornbread, red beans & rice with Andouille sausage, homemade desserts, and Colorado microbrews are all on tap for this annual celebration of the KBUT radio program ”The Friday Night Fish Fry” which has been airing for 23 years. KBUT DJ’s spin New Orleans themed music throughout the evening and there's face painting, and lawn games to keep you and your youngsters entertained. Dinner is just $15 a plate when you purchase in advance and $20 at the event. Children's dinner is $10 in advance and $15 at the event. Thanks to SKA Brewing for providing fine Colorado microbrews this year.

Event Description: Summer Solstice marks the end of our days getting longer. Celebrate with friends and family at our on-mountain Summer Solstice Party! Take the last chair on Red Lady Express and then head over to Umbrella Bar, located at the top of Painter Boy Lift. Your entry includes one complimentary alcoholic beverage, charcuterie, appetizers and more. Don't forget you may want your headlamp to find your way to the base after! Details subject to change.

Name: Crested Butte Bike Week
Date: June 23, 2017 - June 25, 2017
Event Description: Welcome to the oldest mountain bike festival in the world! This is where a rider can experience the birthplace of mountain biking and ride miles and miles of singletrack. Since the 1970s, when locals started retrofitting old Schwinn paperboy bikes with multiple gears, Crested Butte has helped write the history of mountain biking and was once home to the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Today, some of the sport’s most thrilling chapters are still unfolding in the Gunnison Valley, with both classic and cutting-edge events on the planet’s most legendary singletrack trails. The Crested Butte Bike Week is the oldest mountain bike festival in the world. Now that’s a statement! Events include the Fat Tire 40 mountain bike cross country race, the infamous Chainless downhill race, Gravity Slave at Evolution Bike Park, movies, group rides and more! Event Description: Join us as we dance the night away, celebrating the museum moving into the iconic Tony's Conoco building. This event is very special to the museum. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year and our best way to celebrate and thank our community for support.

Name: FREE TWILIGHT ARCHERY SERIES
Dates: Every Friday from July 7th 4:30 pm ending July 28th.
Event Description: Friday evenings July 7 – 28, Crested Butte Mountain Resort invites archers of all ability levels to have their hand at a fun and FREE 3D Competition. Competitors check-in to sign the waiver and pick up a scorecard. A sight in range and 10 targets will be set at the top of the Teocalli lift, a short walk down Primer Trail from the top of the Red Lady Express. There will be an awards party after each shoot with free raffle prizes and complimentary beverages!

Date: July 8th at 7:00 pm
Event Description: Hike or bike to the top of Ten Peaks and enjoy dinner under the moonlight at the Umbrella Bar. Tickets may be purchased at the Adventure Center in advance and include a complimentary wine or beer and delicious al fresco style summer dinner starting at 7 pm.

Name: LIVING JOURNEY'S SUMMIT HIKE
Date: July 29th from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
Event Description: Living Journeys is a local non-profit that raises money to provide support to those living with cancer in the Gunnison Valley. The Summit Hike is one of Living Journey's primary fundraising events that funds financial grants, emotional support and enrichment for individuals living with cancer and their loved ones. All fitness levels and ages can participate in the summit hike. Participants have the option to hike 11.5 miles roundtrip from the base area of Crested Butte Mountain Resort to the peak, or they can ride the Silver Queen Express Lift (which covers 2,000 vertical feet in 15 minutes). From the top of the chairlift, participants hike the high alpine trail to the peak, which is 2 miles round trip covering 762 vertical feet. Hikers can begin as early as 7 am or wait for the lift to begin running at 9:30 am to 2pm. For more information and registration visit www.livingjourneys.org.

Name: HISTORIC PUB CRAWL
Date: August 24th at 4:30 pm
Event Description: CRAWL THE INFAMOUS HISTORIC DRINKING ESTABLISHMENTS OF OLD TIME CRESTED BUTTE!
Start at the Museum for apps and your commemorative pint glass which you can then take for a free drink at each of the 3 participating bars. A local historian will be at each bar to entertain and edify you about the history of the bars. CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW WILD THE POKER GAMES WERE AT THESE SALOONS BACK IN THE DAY? We've got a less dangerous way to play, and no skill required! Just collect a card at the museum and then at each of the three bars along the way. When you get back to the museum, you'll get your final card. The best hand wins and splits the pot with the museum.

Name: TITO'S BLUE MESA BEACH BASH
Date: August 26th at 8:00 am
Event Description: The newest SUP event on the largest body of water in Colorado. Tito’s Blue Mesa Beach Bash is an event for all ages and abilities! Join the Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association on Saturday, August 26 for the best stand-up paddleboard event in Colorado. SUP races, clinics, golf and more are all included in your admission. Join us at Old Stevens Creek day use area on Blue Mesa Reservoir. Located about 15 minutes west of Gunnison on Highway 50.
